Principal's Welcome Letter & Remote Back to School Night

9/11/2022

Dear AmPark Community,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the incoming Interim Acting Principal at AmPark Neighborhood School.  It is truly an honor, blessing, and privilege to become a part of the AmPark family and community.  For the last 6 months, I have had many interactions with the faculty, students, and parents, and I can already tell that it is a unique and special place that I am incredibly excited to become a part of.

I come to you with 27 years of experience working with the Department of Education; however, I come from a family of educators, so I have been around this profession all my life.  I spent the last 4 years as an Assistant Principal and am eager to take on this role with your continued partnership.

These past few weeks, I spent most of my time working with the Superintendent’s office to ensure a smooth transition.  I will get to know the building and our community better, and familiarize myself with the unique needs of our school.  I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and families work together for the best interests of our children.  With that in mind, I will be calling on all our faculty, staff, and parents to work as a singular unit so we can best serve our children.

I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself completely in our school and in our community.  I believe my main responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of our staff and students and to put our teachers in the best possible position to succeed, as they will in turn put our children in the best possible position to thrive.  I look forward to the coming year with anticipation for your student’s success.  Our mission this school year is to educate young minds, innovate students to reach their creative potential, collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure success, and celebrate the achievements of our future generation.

I look forward to meeting all of you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

In partnership,

Meena Lildharrie
Principal, IA

Tonight, September 15th, 2022 is AmPark's Remote Back to School/Curriculum Night

This evening, we will be hosting our Back to School/Curriculum Night from 5:00pm - 7:15pm.  To best accommodate all and the schedules of our families and teachers alike, we will hold this event remotely.

Yesterday, you should have received an email from AmPark with the list of Zoom links for teacher's remote sessions.  In order to ensure that families with siblings can attend multiple teacher's sessions, we will have one session from 5:00pm-5:45pm, followed by an administrative Q&A session from 5:45pm-6:30pm, and then a second teacher session from 6:30pm-7:15pm.  The two teacher sessions offer the same presentation and content.

We look forward to seeing you tonight!
