Dear AmPark Family,
Happy Friday! We are sending our warmest wishes to all of our mothers and mother figures this weekend. We hope that you have a Mother’s Day filled with love and appreciation.
Our first remote Parent Association meeting was held this past Wednesday and we had a really strong turn-out! Thank you so much to all of our families that attended. Our conversation focused on supporting our students and ourselves during remote learning, as well as preparing for transitions, particularly for our fifth graders. We also discussed topics for parent workshops and the new grading policy. More than anything, we celebrated the combined efforts and connected with one another as community members.
The slideshow for Teacher Appreciation Week came together beautifully and just in time to close out this week. Our teachers will be posting it in their classrooms so that you can also take a look. Thank you so much for sending in pictures and words of encouragement for our staff members. There were some watery eyes when it went out this morning!
We are hoping to tap into some of our AmPark alum to support our fifth graders in preparing for middle school. Many of our current students have older siblings that can help us to shine a light on this transition. We are in the preliminary stages of planning the structures for these supports, but if you have a AmPark alum that would be willing to help out, please email our Parent Coordinator, Niomi Vasquez at email@example.com

AmPark’s Got Talent!
We may be remote, but that's no reason we can't showcase the magic that our AmPark Family has to share! On June 3rd & 4th, from 5PM to 6PM, we'll be holding our very first (and hopefully only) remote edition of AmPark's Got Talent!
Going remote does pose some challenges, so we're going to ask that all submissions be sent in by Thursday, May 28th. This will give the AmPark team time to upload and cue up videos to show during the live events on the 3rd & 4th.
All PreK-2nd Grade Talents videos will be shown on June 3rd
3rd-5th Grade Talent videos will be shown on June 4th
The videos will be shown in live Zoom events, giving each of our students a moment to shine and be seen for the stars that they are!
Please ensure that no video is longer than 4 minutes. All videos are to please be sent to Bonnie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any families who would like to help in curating and supporting the event, please reach out to Bonnie as well!
We cannot wait to see you shine AmPark Stars!
In collaboration, with appreciation, and love to all of our amazing AmPark Moms,
Kelly, Bonnie, & Francisco
