Dear AmPark Family, Happy Friday! We are sending our warmest wishes to all of our mothers and mother figures this weekend. We hope that you have a Mother’s Day filled with love and appreciation. ![]() Our first remote Parent Association meeting was held this past Wednesday and we had a really strong turn-out! Thank you so much to all of our families that attended. Our conversation focused on supporting our students and ourselves during remote learning, as well as preparing for transitions, particularly for our fifth graders. We also discussed topics for parent workshops and the new grading policy. More than anything, we celebrated the combined efforts and connected with one another as community members. The slideshow for Teacher Appreciation Week came together beautifully and just in time to close out this week. Our teachers will be posting it in their classrooms so that you can also take a look. Thank you so much for sending in pictures and words of encouragement for our staff members. There were some watery eyes when it went out this morning! ![]() We are hoping to tap into some of our AmPark alum to support our fifth graders in preparing for middle school. Many of our current students have older siblings that can help us to shine a light on this transition. We are in the preliminary stages of planning the structures for these supports, but if you have a AmPark alum that would be willing to help out, please email our Parent Coordinator, Niomi Vasquez at nmartinez28@schools.nyc.gov Daily affirmations for a quick dose of self-care: Monday, May 11th: I am willing to keep going, when things get tough, to achieve the success I deserve.
