AmPark Owl Blog

Owl Blog for June 13th

6/13/2025

Good Evening AmPark Families,

What a wild and wonderful week it has been here at AmPark Neighborhood School!  Between our beautiful Doughnuts With Dads & Dad Figures Sing breakfasts throughout the week, the absolutely EPIC AmPark Spring Concert on Thursday at which, led by our incomparable Josh Joffee, every one of our AmPark Owls shone like the rockstars they are, and then our 5th graders camp adventure to Connecticut's Holiday Hill today, we are coming into this weekend exhausted and still smiling from all of the joy, music, fun, and celebration.  Thank you so much to all of you who have joined us for it!

On a less joyful note, Mother Nature has continued to amp up this spring of nearly record rainfall, and seems to plan for just a bit more for  tomorrow.  Given this weather prediction, we have sadly postponed our much anticipated RTS, PA, AmPark Carnival, which had been scheduled for (tomorrow) June 14th.  Please know that we do intend to reschedule the festivities for a later date and will happily share the news as soon as we've set it!  Stay tuned!

Next week, school will be closed on Thursday, in honor of Juneteenth.  Ahead of that, we are so excited to invite all of our 5th Grade and Kindergarten families to celebrate the milestones that their students are about to reach with the 5th Grade Graduation and Kindergarten Stepping Up ceremonies (AM and PM, respectively) on Wednesday, June 18th, in our Multi-Purpose Room.  Then on Friday, our PreKindergarten Stepping Up Celebration will kick off at Classic Playground, in Van Cortlandt Park (and for right now, believe it or not, the forecast shows that Mother Nature might just shine on our PreK kiddos and families for the occasion)!

In the meantime, to all of our wonderful AmPark fathers and father figures, we wish you a very happy and family-filled Father's Day!  Thank you!
