Good Evening AmPark Families, Thank you so much for engaging with us on Thursday for our May Parent Teacher Conferences. It was a pleasure to see you and get to share all of the upcoming AmPark magic we have in store for the months ahead. On a similar note, it was AMAZING to see so many families sipping tea and making art this evening at our Mother's Day Tea & Paint led by AmPark's resident Lehman College Art Gallery Artist, Crystal Benitez! Our PK-2nd graders made some lovely memories for their moms on canvas tonight and it was pure joy to behold. We look forward to an encore with our 3rd-5th grade families next week! Please RSVP to Elvira if you plan to attend. Our first round of testing went so smoothly this week and I am proud to say that our students left with some well-deserved swagger in their steps from 2 days of diligent work and a job well done. We'll continue with the State Math test on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, May 7th & 8th. Please find our Spring Concert flyer, May Events Calendar & Lunch Menu, and information about how you can join in on AmPark's Career Day below. Wishing you all a beautiful weekend! When: June 3rd from 8:45 to 10:45 Where: AmPark Neighborhood School Hello AmPark Families, We have exciting news! We are happy to announce that Career Day 2025 is officially set for June 3, 2025. Every year, Career Day has been an enormous success, and one reason is that we have many wonderful parent volunteers! We would love for AmPark parents to volunteer between 8:45 am and 10:45 am at the school to present their careers to the students. Parents can volunteer to show the entire time or for part of it. Once I receive your name, contact information, and the time you are available to volunteer, I will send you the day's schedule once it is finalized. There are tips for the presenters listed below for your reference. We've come up with a few careers we'd like to see, but of course, all careers are welcome! Please email me at [email protected] with the information bolded below, if you or someone you know can volunteer. Hoping to hear from some of you soon! Each career and industry is unique, so plan what works for you and your area of expertise. Keep in mind that your audience is K-5th grade students. For many of them, this is their first introduction to the professional world beyond the classroom. Engaging students in an activity like brainstorming or a case study, sharing anecdotes and asking them questions makes it fun for you and them. Please allow time at the end of your presentation for students to ask questions. Consider the following talking points:
