Owl Blog Post for September 20th, 2024

Happy Friday AmPark Families,

We've had another full and fabulous week here at AmPark.  Our classes are in full swing and our Owls are soaring already.  On Tuesday, we were delighted to have over 100 families engage with Dads Take Your Child to School Day!  It was truly beautiful to see so many fathers and father figures bringing their students in and pausing for a little breakfast and time in community together, here in the AmPark lobby.

Thank you so much to our PA for your support in making it happen and to all of our families who joined us for the event!   

Believe it or not AmPark's Lost & Found is already filling up with our Owls' sweatshirts, lunch bags, snack boxes, water bottles, hats... you name it!  And it's only the second full week of the school year!!  Can't drop in to school to check the Lost & Found in person?  Well no worries, because the AmPark PA has got you covered! Please check out the AmPark PA's brilliantly helpful Lost & Found Instagram page to see if that thing you've been missing is here!  On that page you will find updated photos of our lost and found shelves and might just see that misplaced thing that you've been looking for everywhere!

Dear AmPark:

Wellness in the Schools (WITS) is ready to begin yet another year partnering with the AmPark community!  Since 2013!!, WITS has been working together, alongside staff members, parents and caregivers to further lift up health and wellness at AmPark!  As WITS continues to grow, and the students we teach grow along with us, it is both a comfort and honor to be able to come back to AmPark year after year. 

This year we have three new recipes that we will make with students during WITS Labs, our seasonal culinary and nutrition education classes, in November, January and April.  We have plans to spend time on adult engagement, holding workshops for the parents and caregivers of the community.  Additionally, we continue to have a strong fitness program and our coaches will collaborate with students and educators to facilitate movement and mindfulness breaks in classrooms and PE using our partnership with EXOS.

AmPark's students will all be chefs from November 13th-15th when we dive into making Apple Citrus Pico De Gallo in the K Cafe with WITS Chef Victoria!
