Dear AmPark Families, We had such a wonderful time on Friday for our first school-wide field trip to see The Nutcracker at Lehman College. Our AmPark Owls rose to the occasion of a day at the ballet as a respectful and attentive audience and it was a truly magical performance. Thank you so much to the many families who joined us as chaperones and to the AmPark PA for helping to make this possible for all of AmPark. It was a gift and an unforgettable experience. We invite all families to come in throughout the week this week during our Festival of Lights Holiday Sings! Please come and join in the joy of a multicultural holiday sing along with Josh and our Owls on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! See the flyer below for more details. Friday will be the last day of school for 2024 (it's also Ugly Sweater Day for Fun Friday!). School will resume on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. Beginning December 10th, children born in 2020 can apply to kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. The application deadline is Friday, January 24, 2025. All families who apply by the deadline will receive a kindergarten offer in April. All families should participate in kindergarten admissions, including children currently attending pre-K, students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and students with accessibility needs. Reminder that families can also apply to gifted & talented programs using the kindergarten application. MySchools.nyc includes an online directory tool that allows families to view school open house info, explore program choices, save programs of interest, and submit their application, all on the same site. Families can apply to Kindergarten in one of three ways, online at MySchools, over the phone by calling 718-935-2009 or by visiting their local family welcome center. Hello AmPark Families, We hope that many of you will be able to join us tomorrow for the annual AmPark Balloon Parade at 8:45am! The weather looks to be fair and our Owls' beautifully decorated balloons are ready to float down the street in a parade of Thanksgiving cheer. In this season of gratitude, we just want to share with all of you how thankful we are for your beautiful children and your partnership in all that we do. Our AmPark community is the unique and wonderful place that it is because of you. However you celebrate the holiday ahead, we hope that it is a healthy and joyful one for all. AmPark's Parent Teacher Conferences   Pivot to Remote Readiness Exercise on November 6th, 2024 Please reach out to your child's teacher if your child will need to take home an AmPark iPad to participate in the remote readiness practice on Wednesday. Students will all have a homework assignment in their Google Classrooms to please complete on Wednesday afternoon. Any loaned devices will need to be returned for regular classroom use on Thursday morning. AmPark's November Events Calendar  What's for LUNCH this month?   Good Morning AmPark Families! AmPark's front entrance is an Owl created pumpkin patch of pure joy this morning! We hope to see you there, cheering along our March of Dimes WonderWalk & Costume Parade route this morning at 8:45am. We'll be exiting from Hillman, walking around the block and back again. Just a reminder that there are no toy weapons or full faces masks allowed at the parade, for safety's sake. If you have not yet made a small donation to the amazing work of the March of Dimes, please do so now! Every donation goes directly to March of Dimes' work with prenatal and postnatal care of moms, babies, and families. Thank you to all of you who have already donated to MoD, thank you also for so many beautiful pumpkins, and we'll see you at the parade!   |
