A Very Thanksgiving Owl Post

Good Evening AmPark Families,

We are so grateful that Mother Nature decided to literally shine on us this morning and stop the rain just in time to hold our 2nd annual AmPark Balloon Parade, outside!  We are even more grateful to all of you for your support and joining us to cheer on the most creative balloon creations this side of the Macy's Day Parade!  This morning was pure joy and from the smiles on their faces with hundreds of spontaneous hugs and high fives given to our mascot, Hope, and our inflatable costume clad teachers, we have no doubt that our students had a very happy send off into the holiday break ahead.

We have much to be thankful for this year, but nothing more than all of you, our amazing families, for your partnership and support in all that we do at AmPark.  We wish you all a very healthy, happy, and family and friend filled Thanksgiving.

A few quick announcements while we have you here:

• December's events calendar is on it's way to you in the week ahead (because somehow it's already December on Friday!) b ut in the meantime, for Fun Friday prepping, please know that Friday, December 1st is the coziest of Fun Fridays, because it's... Pajama Day!
• AmPark has won 3 arts grants! We are so thankful to our Councilmembers for making these grant opportunities a reality and bringing as much art back to AmPark as possible!  On Fridays, beginning this week, several classes will begin a 10 art session series, focused on collage, with an Artist in Residence from Lehman College Arts Gallery!  This same amazing artist, will be guiding our 4th and 5th grade after school enrichment group to design and paint a mural, directly onto the brick, in the 2nd floor hallway!    
• School Tours are coming, and they are back in person!  If you or anyone you know is interested in joining our AmPark community, please spread the word far and wide that we are hosting in-person, prospective family tours on December 1st, December 8th, December 15th, and January 11th.  Please see the sign up form and more information below.

AmPark PA presents the Coin Challenge!
November 27 – December 15, 2023
 
Put your spare change towards a great cause. All proceeds from our coin challenge will go to support all students at AmPark.
 
Here’s how it works:

• Containers will be located in the cafeteria.
• During lunchtime each child can add change to their grade jar.
• Each coin counts as weight for YOUR grade.
• At the end of the lunch period each jar will get weighed to see which grade has the most weight.
• At the end of the day on December 15, all jars will be weighed to see which grade has the most weight and the grade with the most weight will win a Friday afternoon in our game room and a pizza party!
