Global warming is happening because people are emitting billions of tons of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Now when they get there these greenhouse gases cause extra heat to be trapped on the earth so That heat that would have otherwise been radiated back out into space is now sticking around and warming up our planet. It turns out that the oceans can absorb a thousand times the amount of heat as the atmosphere. For example, think about a balloon ( don’t try this at home) a balloon filled with air representing the atmosphere. If you put heat around it, it would pop because it can't absorb too much heat. Now if you take a balloon filled with water and get heat to touch it, it would not pop and it would absorb all the heat, if you would hold it, it would start to get hot. Now climate change does not just affect oceans! It affects land and animals and even humans! Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Well what I’m thinking is that US HUMANS CAN MAKE A CHANGE!!!!!!!! You could recycle, reuse, reduce, when you're not in a room, turn off the lights! Use a bike instead of your car, eat less meat! There are many more ways you could help and learn!
