Dear AmPark Family, I hope this finds you all healthy and well as can be. I want to take this moment to say a very heartfelt thank you to all of you for proving once again to be an unshakable force of a community, able to not only withstand the many new challenges of this pandemic, but to show up as your best selves for one another and for our shared school community throughout. The outpouring of love and appreciation that we have received from so many of you is truly priceless. Thank you for your open communication and responsiveness as we have continued to prioritize safety and well being in the face of the many challenges we bear together now. As you know, in the past week, we have received multiple reports of confirmed cases of COVID in our community resulting in the widespread classroom closures that have occurred. Please know that each and every case has been reported to the Situation Room. Unfortunately, the system has been overwhelmed and we are not yet receiving the detailed guidance that we've had in the past, and have needed instead to err on the side of caution to ensure the continued health and safety of your children, your families, and the staff of our AmPark family. With that said, between yesterday and today we've received 4 more positive COVID case reports which we have passed along to the Situation Room and alerted families to accordingly. We will continue our practice of full transparency in all of these communications and if there is ever a question that you need answered, please never hesitate to reach out to myself and Dany, directly. On a much more joyful note, we do have one more important announcement to share as we head into this break. As my due date and maternity leave loom near, we have been given the enormous gift of another AmPark administrative team member. Ms. Meena Lildharrie, will join AmPark as our Interim Acting Principal during the time that Kelly and I are both out with our new little ones. Our own and wonderful Dany Velazquez will continue on as AP as well, giving our AmPark administrative team the full support that we need during these challenging times. We are beyond grateful to Superintendent Hulla for her leadership and supporting our school community in this vital way. Meena Lildharrie is the long time and much beloved Assistant Principal of PS 91. She brings with her a wealth of experience and Kelly, Dany, and I are all thrilled to have her talents and support join us at AmPark in the months ahead. While I do plan to return in the new year, for at least a few days, we will see what the littlest impending AmPark Owl has in store as far as timing goes. My own plan is that I hope to join you all in officially welcoming Meena into our community on January 3rd of 2022. In the meantime AmPark, we wish you only health, joy, and the gift of time with family in this holiday break ahead. May you stay safe as can be and we will see you in the new year. With love and light to you all, Bonnie & Dany Greetings AmPark Families, The Roads to Success After-school program at Amaprk registration for the Sept. 2021 - June 2022 school year is still open!
