To Our AmPark Community:

Thank you for your continued support in keeping students excited about school, celebrating achievements, and ensuring the daily attendance of our children. We want to continue to partner in ways that promote positive attendance and hope that you will review with your child some of our attendance practices. AmPark helps support student attendance by:

• District Advised Attendance Report Cards (will be sent home starting this month)
• District Advised Parent Focus Group Meetings (please email parent Coordinator Elvira at [email protected] for the next date in February).
• Weekly Fun Fridays (Dress like… and Lottery prizes)

• Weekly Attendance Lobby Bulletin Board updates
• Weekly Top Class Attendance Shout Outs 
• Monthly 100 % Attendance Certificates   
• Continued Weekly Attendance Team Meetings
• Daily monitoring of student absences by attendance team and parent outreach phone calls.
• Scheduling parent meetings/home visits with the chronically/severely absent students 
• Teacher Mentor Check-in
• AmPark’s Attendance Awareness Campaign- Students that had 98%-100% (1-0 absences) attendance for the months of September- December have received a permission slip to attend a Chuck E Cheese Trip in February. Congratulations.  Now the challenge is on for those that want to participate in the Second Semester Attendance Challenge.

Attendance Challenge: January to May 2023

• Individual students with a 98% attendance rate from January through May will earn a special AmPark prize.

• Classes with a 98% attendance rate from January through May will earn a special AmPark class prize.

In addition, if your child is going to be absent please:

• Email their classroom teacher or inform the main office
• Whenever possible, please provide doctor’s notes
• Schedule vacations during NYC DOE vacations

 We encourage you to continue to remind students of the importance of coming to school everyday to learn, celebrate accomplishments with friends and create positive memories. As always we appreciate partnering with you in increasing our attendance rates and fostering a supportive learning environment for every AmPark Owl.
