Owl Blog Post for July 30th

Dear AmPark Families,

Our spirits were truly renewed by seeing so many of you in person at Wednesday’s Social event, as well as virtually during Thursday’s Lunch Break.  Hearing about your hopes and fears for the new school year, and knowing that you trust your precious children with us, has us buzzing with excitement for what is to come.  Please see a few candid shots of our time together here...

Highlights that were shared from our Lunch Break included:

• The provisional hiring of our new art teacher, Bob Reaven-Edlen (please all cross your fingers for a September start for Bob! The certification units are far backed up and HR is working on transferring Bob’s out-of-state license)
• The addition of a part-time librarian, Teresa Mulvihill
• An expansion to our School Based Support Team - An additional psychologist will be joining the team for 2 days per week in addition to Krystal Mendez
• The hiring of our new Occupation Therapist, Christy Salvatore
• Our commitment to opening our doors at 7:45 for early arrival in support of our families (this will likely look differently than it has in year’s past as we will not be gathering all students in the multi-purpose room)
• Conversations with Roads to Success regarding the re-establishment of our site pending central approval and permit funding
  

Our annual AmPark Meet and Greet event is scheduled to be in-person on Thursday, September 2nd from 1:30 - 2:30.  During this time, students can see their classrooms and meet additional school staff.

School Supply Lists 

We have continued our partnership with the School Toolbox.  School Toolbox provides direct shipping to home or to school.  You are also welcome to purchase the supplies from any other store or vendor of your choosing.  If you choose to use School Toolbox, please search AmPark 10x334 on their website: schooltoolbox.com 

Given the hardships of this past year, we have worked to absorb as much of the cost of supplies as possible as a school, as well as to include some supplies on the “wishlist” rather than the required list.  We do not want school supplies to be a barrier or a burden for any family.  Please provide what you can, and reach out should you need assistance.

Summer Packets Reminder! Summer Packets will be sent via email with class assignments and important back to school information by August 23rd.​
