Dear Families, As always, we hope this communication finds you safe and healthy. There has been no official announcement made as of yet regarding the citywide status of school closure, but we do anticipate that this will be forthcoming. We will be in frequent communication with you regarding announcements. Technology Devices: As the city prepares to support students in the event of a shutdown, we need to prioritize any devices that are in transit to students that have no or extremely limited access. If you have been able to secure a device, but your child’s name is still on the request list, we are asking that you please rescind your request. We know that this is a tall order given the significant wait times for devices. If you feel more comfortable, please feel free to send an informal email to Niomi, Bonnie or myself stating that you wish to remain on the request list, but if we have the ability to use our discretion then we can prioritize a family in greater need. The city has made decisions regarding how they prioritize distribution of centrally funded iPads, but we are anticipating our chromebook shipment to arrive in the coming weeks and hope to fill the gaps so that all of our students are well covered. To cancel your request please visit this website: https://coronavirus.schools.nyc/acceptagreements "Lunch Forms" - Income Verification Forms We are asking for all of our parents to please fill out a Family Income Verification Form this year, as we do every year. This form is also known as the "Lunch Form". The vital information provided on this form will determin if your child is eligible for Title 1 and other funding. It is important not only to your child but to our school funding overall. Please support us by completing the form online here: MYSCHOOLAPPS.COM Remote Only/Hybrid Opt-In: The timing on this is auspicious given the changes we anticipate, but if your child was originally opted into HYBRID learning, but has not come for any in-person and has only logged on for instruction, please update your request here: https://www.nycenet.edu/surveys/learningpreference Staffing, attendance, and budgetary needs are determined by learning preferences this year and it is essential that we can accurately reflect learning preference and attendance alignment. Additionally, the opt in period for hybrid learning is closing this Sunday, November 15th. Given current circumstances, we are not certain how this will change, but we encourage you to complete the survey if you would like for your child to move from fully remote to hybrid learning when possible. The same survey can be used: https://www.nycenet.edu/surveys/learningpreference Comments are closed.
