Dear Families, Niomi and Craig will be available for device troubleshooting on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th by appointment between 9 and 2 p.m. Please email Niomi at [email protected] if you need support with a device. Several grade levels and specialty area teachers will have additional material distribution on Monday and Tuesday as well. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teachers. Additional material distribution days will be contingent on the length of the in-person learning closure. If you are in need of books, paper, pencils, etc. please also be in touch with Niomi so that additional materials can be secured for your child. The Department of Education has promised to send additional devices to families that are still in need on a rolling basis over the next five weeks. We will be in communication with families that have indicated their need as the devices come in. Let’s Learn offers age-appropriate content that is aligned to education standards and lessons for early childhood education, using videotaped lessons by educators, that focus on foundational reading and writing skills, literacy, math, science, social studies and the arts. The series also supports social-emotional learning and brings viewers on virtual field trips to see dance performances, meet animals, visit botanical gardens, and more. Beginning November 16, episodes of Let’s Learn will air weekdays at 11:00 a.m. on WNET-Channel 13, and at 9:00 a.m. on WLIW-Channel 21, the New York-metro-area PBS stations. Episodes and segments will stream nationwide at letslearn.org. All programming will have English and Spanish captions. There will be no Owl next week due to the Thanksgiving break.
