AmPark’s Middle School Information Workshop
While there are still many questions around the middle school applications process in regard to application deadlines and timetables, we do want to offer all that we can to support our 5th grade students and families as they begin to grapple with the middle school transition ahead. On December 1st, at 6PM will will host a Zoom meeting to share with families what we know about the application process, navigating MySchools accounts and, best of all, hear from several of our AmPark Alumni who are now in 6th and 7th grade at some of our most frequented middle schools.

The DOE, in partnership with the WNET Group, is launching new episodes of the public television program Let’s Learn, which features lessons for children in 3-K—grade 2, that will continue to serve as a supplemental resource for remote and blended learning.
Let’s Learn offers age-appropriate content that is aligned to education standards and lessons for early childhood education, using videotaped lessons by educators, that focus on foundational reading and writing skills, literacy, math, science, social studies and the arts. The series also supports social-emotional learning and brings viewers on virtual field trips to see dance performances, meet animals, visit botanical gardens, and more. Beginning November 16, episodes of Let’s Learn will air weekdays at 11:00 a.m. on WNET-Channel 13, and at 9:00 a.m. on WLIW-Channel 21, the New York-metro-area PBS stations. Episodes and segments will stream nationwide at letslearn.org. All programming will have English and Spanish captions.
There will be no Owl next week due to the Thanksgiving break. We hope that next week brings your family time for rest and connection.
