Dear Families,
Congratulations to our 4th grade students that were selected to participate in the District 10 Science Fair last Saturday! Francesca, Kenneth, Sawyer, Elanor represented our school with their innovative experiments. Our fourth and fifth grade students began priming this week with our resident artist, Tijay. The students are designing a mural celebrating their cultural heritage that will welcome us in through our glass room entrance. Administrators met with Chef Ricardo and Chef Marion from Wellness in the Schools on Thursday to discuss ways to raise up the work of the student wellness team on their snacking initiative before the end of the year. The chefs offered to support families through a parent workshop on healthy and affordable bulk snack options that can be easily prepared and are great for summer snacking. Additionally, our chefs reminded us of the GrowNYC initiative and our local Norwood Farmstand. You can also watch Chef Ricardo on BronxNet on Mondays at 6 p.m. Norwood Farmstand E Gun Hill Rd & Dekalb Ave, Bronx [map] Open Thursdays, Year-round Market Hours, July - Nov: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Market Hours, Dec - June: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Compost Program: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Cash, SNAP/EBT, Debit/Credit, Healthfirst OTC cards (LIP and CC members only), WIC & Senior FMNP coupons, and Greenmarket Bucks accepted.
